Google review link and QR code generator

Paste your Place ID. Get the link that opens the review box directly, plus a QR code you can print. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent anywhere; the link is assembled in your browser.

Where do I find my Place ID?

Open Google's Place ID Finder, search your business name and address, and copy the ID it shows under the business. It looks like ChIJN1t_tDeuEmsRUsoyG83frY4. You can also paste any link that already contains placeid= and this tool will pull the ID out of it.

What is the difference between this link and the one in my dashboard?

Google Business Profile gives you a short link that looks like g.page/r/…/review under its Ask for reviews button. That link works and it is shorter. The one this tool builds points at search.google.com/local/writereview, which is stable, does not depend on your dashboard, and can be regenerated any time from the Place ID. Use whichever you prefer. Both land the customer on the star selector with your business already selected.

Where should the QR code actually go?

  • On the invoice or receipt, next to the total, where the customer is already looking
  • On a small card handed over at the end of the job, not mailed later
  • On the back of a service vehicle, large enough to scan from a few feet
  • On a counter stand at eye level, not flat on the surface

Print the SVG rather than a screenshot of it. A screenshot goes soft the moment it is scaled up, and a QR code that fails to scan on the first try does not get a second try.

Is asking for reviews with a QR code against Google's rules?

Asking every customer is fine. Asking only the customers you expect to be happy is not: filtering or gating reviews based on predicted sentiment violates Google's policy. Offering a discount, entry to a draw, or anything else in exchange for a review is also prohibited. Hand the same code to everyone and take the reviews you get.
